It’s official we’ve published Big Top Ballet ’s Android Beta to Google Play this morning. In future updates, we will be adding in-app purchases for enhanced game play options and added costumes and ballerinas.

The BETA version is Free and we will continue to update the game to achieve maximum compatibility with as many of the listed ARMv7 Android Devices below. We’ve tested the game’s performance on the Motorola Xoom but as indie developers it is not within our capacity to test on all Android devices. If you’re a user and are happy with the performance of Big Top Ballet on your beloved Android Device please comment on Google Play and including your device name and OS for other users.

Game Description:

Big Top Ballet is a trippy cirque inspired ballet game with killer electronica by Vancouver’s own ill-esha. The style of Big Top Ballet evokes a dream like dimension filled with an enchanting and at times eerie music box of original electronica dubstep.

Featuring a never before seen game play inspired by paper dolls, Game 1 of Big Top Ballet is a 3D ‘dress up’ game with a twist.

Build a kaleidoscope of spinning paper ballerinas by attaching floating costumes. In Version 1.2 when the monarch butterfly arrives, your task is to activate these paper ballerinas epic transformation by flying the monarch through hoops.

Instead of levels Big Top Ballet will feature a series of artful mini games with ‘killer’ electronica music incorporating an evolving narrative dealing with the dreamscape of fantasy, nightmares, and the subconscious. There’s more to this game than meets the eye.

We’re about to release version 1.1 for the Mac, iOS, and Chrome Web Store and in the meantime have set the pricing to FREE on the Mac App Store and $0.99 for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch versions of Big Top Ballet.

We will return to paid with the next Version upgrade. Upcoming Version 1.1 will have an added dimension to the game play strategy that will have you flying as a Monarch Butterfly through hoops . We’re also adding new music by ill-esha for the intro scene and leadership and achievement boards will follow thereafter.

Just when you thought we caught up to everything ‘Star Trek’ for the exception of the holodeck, Tupac makes an appearance at Coachella as a 3D hologram to perform his classic single ‘Hail Mary’.  AV Concepts the company that engineered the hologram  spent months working on realizing a 3D life sized projection to perform along side Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. The stunt  amazed Coachella Festival goers and continues to amaze millions of viewers on YouTube.

It’s pretty wild and when we’ve just posted a YouTube video of where we want to take VectorBloom gaming and live light shows , it isn’t hard to imagine how hi-tech live performances will continue to become and how much game tech can be incorporated into light shows.

In addition to Game Center for iOS, we’ll be adapting the Big Top Ballet for multiplayer game play on the desktop  with the anticipated release of Game Center for Mac with Mountain Lion OS X.  As quoted from Apple Insider, ‘With Game Center, users can send friend requests to gamers on Mac, iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, making it a true cross-platform experience.’

In the above video VectorBloom’s founder, Elizabeth Boylan speaks about the technology innovation plans we have  using our video game Big Top Ballet as a platform. The video itself has been uploaded as part of an application entry for this year’s  BDC Young Entrepreneur Award. Qualified applicants must  prepare a video pitching their innovation project to the BDC where eleven finalists will be selected. Canadians will then be invited to vote nationally on the best video candidate where the winner will be awarded $100,000.00 to help make their project a reality.

We’re so excited about sharing with the public what we have planned, that we’ve decided to also post our video entry on Big Top Ballet’s YouTube Channel. If we are selected as the sole finalist for British Columbia, voting will occur on the BDC website.  Of course if you find our project exciting you can always support us by purchasing a copy of Big Top Ballet the game for your iPad, iPhone or iPod touch on the App Store. The title will very soon be available for the Mac on the Mac App Store and for Android smart phones and tablets this coming May 2012.

If you have an idea you would like to pitch yourself, the contest with just four days left has been given an additional 32 days for young entrepreneurs to submit their application for their chance at winning $100,000.00 to turbo charge their innovation project through the BDC Young Entrepreneur Award.

We are having a good month. First we released BigTopBallet for iOS on February 28,2012, we started our Android campaign on Appbackr to share in Android app sales- and to top it off we are submitting our Mac App Store version of Big Top Ballet the game for the Desktop and MacBook line of Macs. We’ve been getting great feedback from iPad, iPhone and iPod touch users and I can’t tell you how eager we are to bring you more of what we have planned for our ballet inspired video game.

Our official release date to the Mac App Store will occur  within the next 2 weeks and will be announced from the game’s Facebook and Twitter page.

Game 1 has been inspired by paper dolls with their outfits that attach by folding the white tabs. The object of the game is to dress as many ‘paper’ ballerinas as you can by dragging floating costume pieces and touching the white tab. Use the accelerometer to chase the white tabs of the costumes as each ballerina spins faster as you go ! Dress as many ballerinas as you can- and compete for leader board and achievements coming with Game Center this Spring.

Your ballerina counter doubles as a button to access the ‘Hidden’ Pause Menu with added support links to Big Top Ballet’s Web Site, Facebook, Twitter and email contact. On design, we did away with the lame ass generic pause button. This choice will be appreciated while playing multiplayer mode.

Just 2 weeks ago we released version 1.0 of Big Top Ballet to iOS. We had a successful campaign on Appbackr for the iOS version of the game and we’ve decided to post a second campaign to help us raise funds to promote the release of the Android version of Big Top Ballet. Since we haven’t yet released to the Android Market ( Now Google’s Play) any backr can earn up to 54% profit with a minimum backing of $42.00.

How Will Appbackr Funds Be Used?

In part testing on as many Android devices as we can. We’ve compiled the game for Android- it’s not showing any warnings in the Android emulators yet we still need to test on as many of the most popular Android devices in order to make sure we can bring the best product to robot devotees. We’ll also be adding content to the game title and devoting additional funds towards marketing and promotion. At the same time we’ll be further enhancing the iOS version to support leader boards, achievements by May 2012 and multiplayer game mode by this summer.

Big Top Ballet is not just a little girl’s game- it’s got electronica dubstep and a subplot that we will reveal over the course of this next year as the game grows with Cirque inspired mini games. Yes our main game artist hails from Montreal, Quebec ( the home of another amazing circus art collective that doesn’t abuse animals). It’s not Disney, it’s a trippy game that’s got a cool factor beyond cartoons with crazy electronica dubstep that is out of this world by the beat mistress herself ill-esha.
